What is the price range of your gowns?
Our carefully curated collection of gowns range in price from approximately $1,300 – $4500. The majority of our gowns are in the $2,000 – $2,800 range. We also have a selection of store sample gowns that are discounted and sold directly off the rack starting at $1,000.
Do I need to make an appointment to shop at The Crystal Bride?
Yes, appointments are required. We want you to have the best possible shopping experience. You will work one-on-one with a knowledgeable, dedicated bridal stylist. You can call us at 630-397-5040 or request an appointment here.
How long is my appointment?
Appointments are 90 minutes.
How many guests can I bring with me to my appointment?
We recommend bringing 2-3 guests with you whose opinions you value most. These should be people who will support you and your decisions during this process! Making you feel confident and understood so we can utilize your time wisely.
What will my appointment look like?
Your consultant will have pre-selected gowns for you based on a conversation you will have had prior to your appointment. We will then go upstairs to our bridal suite to begin trying on the gowns we selected just for you! Getting your feedback along the way, your consultant will then continue to pull gowns based on your preferences. Once we feel we cannot beat THE dress, we will help you complete your bridal look with veils and any accessories you might need or want!
Are photographs allowed?
Yes, they are allowed. Please remember that sparkle and color are not accurately represented in cell phone pictures.
How far in advance should I purchase my bridal gown, bridesmaids, mothers of the wedding, etc?
Bridal Gown: 9 – 12 months
Mothers Gown: 3 – 6 months
Veil & Headpiece: 3 – 4 months
Do you do alterations?
We are proud to offer in-house alterations by an outstanding team of classically trained tailors. They are independent contractors, but will meet with you here at The Crystal Bride. Alterations are scheduled on a “first come – first serve basis”. We only alter gowns purchased at The Crystal Bride. Because the tailors are independent contractors, their schedule will fill up quickly and there will be times that they reach capacity. In the event The Crystal Bride is not able to schedule an alteration appointment for you, we do have an outside list of tailors in the Chicagoland area.
How does the alteration process work?
Our tailors generally need 3-4 visits to ensure your dress fits you perfectly. When you book alterations, you are paired with a tailor and she will be the only one working on your wedding dress. Again, they are independent contractors and their estimate of charges is generally between $550-$850. The final payment is due at the final fitting in the form of cash or check made out directly to your tailor.
